Thot and Horus   pour on the head and the shoulders of Ramesses II the sacred libation figured by a throw of the signs ankh and ouas that figure the action of the sun. It is one of the scenes of the king's purification that also appears at Karnak for Hatchepsout.  This scene is sometimes called the"Baptism of Pharaoh". Below the scene, the Hapy gods carry on their heads the signs of 5 nomes of Upper Egypt: of the 14th at 18th. [back to first  hypostyle]
