Walls of the Sokar complex

Sokar (in Greek, Sokaris) is a former god of the smelters known since the Old Empire. He became god of the necropolis memphite under different complex shapes (Ptah-Sokar, Osiris-Sokar...). In Thebes, his cult became integrated in the funeral rituals. His boat henou was also the subject of a cult. He is often appeared like a man with a falcon head.

Nefertum is represented in its chapel, but also in the angle of the east wall. He appears under the shape of the lotus coming up from the Nun and wearing the newborn sun. Nefertum also possesses the full brutality of the lion : although he assists the dead on the path of the eternity, it is a god who appears at the court of Osiris and dreaded as such. He can be represented under different forms, accompanied by the lotus.
